Teeth vs Soda

Every one knows that soda is bad for you. The big question is how does soda effect your teeth? Soda contains many sugars and acids that can cause the mouth to become a more acidic environment. On a pH scale, the smaller the number, the more acidic it is and the higher the number, the more basic it is. Ideally you want your mouth be about a pH of 7. Enamel (or the outer shell of your teeth) can demineralize (or break down) at a pH of 5.5. Soda has a pH of 2.4.
